On May 27, Kishan Reddy, who won the Secunderabad MP seat with a thumping majority in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, put a note on social media thanking everyone for their heartfelt wishes. He, however, had a special request for his well-wishers visiting him at his camp office – not to bring flower bouquets, shawls or sweets.
He instead appealed to them to donate notebooks for needy children.

Kishan Reddy’s appeal to his well-wishers seems to have struck a chord with the people. Scores of people are visiting the recently elected MP’s office with bundles of notebooks which the leader says he wishes to donate to children of government schools as soon as schools reopen in Telangana.
Inspired by his message, several of his party workers and well-wishers began forming a beeline outside his office, presenting him with bundles of notebooks.
On Monday, Greater Hyderabad Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) president Rajesh Kumar visited Kishan Reddy’s house along with his team to donate the notebooks. Talking to the media later, Rajesh said that there are only a few leaders like Kishan Reddy who can come up with such noble ideas.
“Every leader should take him as a role model and implement such great practices to help poor,” he added.
Not just party workers, several women, including members of Self Help Groups (SHGs), visited Kishan Reddy’s office and donated notebooks and storybooks for children. Humbled by the response, Kishan Reddy thanked each of his well-wishers on Twitter and urged people to continue the practice which he says can help students from poor backgrounds to continue their studies.
Humbled by the gesture of constituents, friends & well wishers who called on me today at my office with note books for the needy children, as appealed by me.

Three-time BJP MLA from Amberpet, Kishan Reddy defeated TRS candidate Talasani Sai Kiran with a staggering margin of 62,114 votes after a neck and neck contest in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. Though Reddy had lost his seat in the 2018 Assembly elections in the state, the BJP decided to give him another chance and this will be his maiden term in the Parliament.
