Telugu news anchor Radhika Reddy allegedly kills herself by jumping off building

Popular news anchor of Telugu news channel, V6, V Radhika Reddy allegedly committed suicide on Sunday by jumping from the fifth floor of her building in Moosapet, Hyderabad. She left a suicide note stating that she was suffering from depression.

As per the police report, the anchor returned from office after finishing her work and directly went to the fifth floor of the building and jumped, leaving behind a suicide note.  

The suicide note was recovered from her bag which she had left behind on the building.

“Due to depression I am killing myself. Nobody else is the reason. My brain is my enemy,” she wrote.

Radhika’s father told media that he was waiting for his daughter to return from office. However, at around 10.30 pm, he heard a loud noise, and after chaos in the apartment, he came to know that Radhika had jumped off the building.

Police said that the anchor died instantly due to the impact. She suffered critical injuries to her head, a leg fracture and multiple blunt injuries, police said.

According to police, Radhika was a recent divorcee. She divorced her husband six months ago and was staying with her parents in Moosapet.

She also has a 14-year-old son, who is mentally challenged.

Shocked at her sudden death, several journalists took to Twitter to express their condolences.

Kukkatpally police have booked a case and are investigating.

Police have retrieved her phone and are going through the call details to probe the case.
