Gachibowli, which is one of the most traffic jam prone area in Hyderabad, is likely to see even slower movement on Saturday, the Cyberabad Traffic police have said in an advisory. The hold-up is attributed to a VIP marriage function and procession that will take place 6 pm onwards.

Those heading towards the Hyderabad Shamshabad airport after 6 pm have been asked to take into account the traffic delays. Traffic police have advised those heading to the airport should start at least two hours before their reporting time.

In their traffic advisory, the Cyberabad Traffic police said that the traffic jam is due to a marriage function at JRC Convention located at Dargah Junction, Raidurgam. The VIP movement is expected along the route anywhere between 6 pm and 10 pm.

Those heading towards the Mehdipatanam, Tolichowki and Filimnagar from the Gachobowli area have been requested to take alternate routes to reach the airport early.

There will be no traffic diversions in place, informed the Vijay Kumar, DCP Traffic, Cyberabad through the advisory, but, the general traffic may be stopped for very short times en route to facilitate the free flow of traffic. It is better to avoid Gachibowli-Biodiversity junction- Khajaguda - Raidurgam PS- Dargah route, the police have said.

Traffic in the Gachibowli area is likely to be affected between 7 pm to 10 pm as a lot of VIP movement is expected along the route. The area generally sees congestion due to movement of those working in many IT companies located in the nearby area, who are on their way back home.

However, due to it being Saturday - the weekend - the traffic congestion is increases in Gachibowli area. This is likely to also lead to traffic congestion and jams in most of the alternate routes.
