Vijay fans who have been waiting to know about their star’s next film were in for a surprise on Wednesday. Archana Kalpathi of AGS Cinemas confirmed from her Twitter page that Thalapathy 63 would be produced by the Kalpathi brothers - Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh - her home banner, AGS Entertainment.
The film will be directed by Atlee who previously worked with Vijay in Mersal. Archana would be the film’s creative producer.
Also, a press statement from AGS has confirmed that the film would release for Deepavali 2019. “After the tremendous success of Theri and Mersal, we are excited to join Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee for a hat-trick-box-office blockbuster venture,” reads their statement.

With the film’s technical line up, fans are also speculating that this film would also turn out to be successful like Theri and Mersal.
“#Thalapathy63 promises to be a PAKKA MASS family entertainer with a large cast, superior technical crew and the best of production values,” it says.
AR Rahman has been roped in for the film’s music which will have GK Vishnu for cinematography, Ruben for editing, Anal Arasu for stunt and Vivek for lyrics.
Further details on the film’s casting and title are awaited.
AGC Entertainment’s last venture was with Bobby Simha in Thiruttu Payale 2. Thalapathy 63 would be their first collaboration with both Atlee and Vijay.
Actor Vijay’s last outing with Murugadoss in Sarkar turned out to be a huge success for the star. The film joined the Rs 100 Crore club in just two days.
The film also had its fair share of controversies. A plagiarism case was filed against director AR Murugaodss before its release by writer Varun Rajendran. The director and his team agreed to thank him in the credits, thereby validating his claim.
A day after its release, the Information and Publicity Minister of Tamil Nadu Kadambur Raju as well as the Law Minister of Tamil Nadu CVe Shanmugam warned action against the screening of the film.
