Films these days have to make a killing on their opening weekend, otherwise they get removed from theatres within a week. The first three days after the film’s release can determine whether it will be successful or not to a large extent. In some cases, films pick up, thanks to good word of mouth publicity. However, it is rare for theatres to increase the number of shows based on sheer demand from the public.
Director Mari Selvaraj’s Pariyerum Perumal that was released on September 28 and opened to limited shows in the state. However, theatres across the state are increasing the number of shows due to the good response the film is getting.

Soon after, SR Prabhu, Treasurer of Tamil Film Producers Council tweeted that a few films like Aruvi and Managaram have seen an increase in shows in the past based on the good response from the audience.
