The Bharatiya Jana Party (BJP) released its third list of 20 candidates on Thursday for the upcoming Telangana polls which is scheduled to be held on December 7. “The Central Election Committee has decided the following names for the ensuing General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Telangana,” the party said in a statement.

The names announced are Laxma Reddy for Yellareddy, Pratapa Ramakrishna for Vemulawada, Puppala Raghu for Huzurabad, Chada Srinivas Reddy for Husnabad, Akula Rajaiah for Medak, Dr G Ravi Kumar Goud for Narayankhed, B Rajeswar Rao Deshpande for Sangareddy, P Karunakar Reddy for Patancheru, Kotha Ashok Goud for Ibrahimpatnam and Kanjarla Prakash for Chevella.

Other important constituencies for which the BJP released its candidates include Devara Karunakar from Nampalli, Satish Goud from Secunderabad, Nagurao Namaji from Kodangal, Padmaja Reddy from Mahbubnagar, Rajani Madhava Reddy from Alampur, Sreeramoju Shanmukha from Nalgonda, Kasarla Lingaiah from Nakrekal, Jyothulu Hussaian Naik from Mahbubabad, Dr Vuppala Sarada from Khammam and Dr Shyamal Rao from Madhira.

While candidates like Puppala Raghu will go up against caretaker Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, who is also one of the founding members of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Nagurao Namaji will take on firebrand leader Revanth Reddy from the Congress.

Earlier this month, the party released its second list of 28 candidates for the upcoming Telangana elections.

The party released its first list of 38 nominees for the 119 assembly constituency on October 20. With the release of the second list, the total number of candidates who will actively begin campaigning shortly stands at 66. With the third list out, the number is now 86.        

All sitting MLAs including Telangana BJP President Dr K Laxman from Musheerabad constituency, got  a ticket. G Kishan Reddy was renominated from Amberpet while NVSS Prabhakar is the party’s candidate again from Uppal. Chintala Ramachandra Reddy managed to secure his nomination for Khairatabad again as well.

BJP MLC N Ramachander Rao was given a ticket for the Malkajgiri Assembly constituency. Actor-politician Babu Mohan, who had recently jumped to the party after being denied a TRS ticket, was given a nomination from Andhole, a seat reserved for the SC community.

Controversial legislator from Goshamahal, T Raja Singh, also managed to get a nomination from the party, even though he had attempted to resign from the BJP in August this year.
