Director – turned – actor Cheran’s next is titled Rajavukku Check and he will be seen playing the main protagonist in it. According to reports, the film is an investigative thriller and Cheran will be seen sharing the screen space with three heroines played by Nandana Varma, Sarayu Mohan and Srushti Dange in it.

Directed by Sai Rajkumar, the film will mark the debut of Malayalam film producers Soman Pallatte and Thomas Kokkatt in Kollywood. It may be mentioned here that the director is well known for making films such as the Jayam Ravi starrer Mazhai and the Tollywood flick Hello Permisthara under the name Rajkumar.

Speaking to the Deccan Chronicle about Rajavukku Check, the director had said, “Cheran sir is known for his family-oriented roles. Here in Rajavukku he essays a never seen before character on screen. The movie will be a new experience for the audience.”

According to reports, Nandana Varma plays Cheran’s daughter in the movie. She has been quoted as saying, “It talks about the bond between a father and his daughter. The shooting is almost over. One song sequence is left.”

The shooting of Rajavukku Check began some months ago but it was stalled owing to the strike in the Tamil film industry. With the strike coming to an end, the film’s shooting has commenced and is progressing at a fast pace. Reports are that the makers of Rajavukku Check are planning to release the film later this year and its exact release date would be announced depending on how the shooting progresses.

MS Prabhu is in charge of cinematography and Vinod Yajamaanyaa will be the music director. The crew also consists of art director P Raju, editor CS Prem, action choreographer Danger Mani and lyricist Jayantha.

It may be mentioned here that Cheran has returned to acting after four years and the last film he had starred was Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam in 2014. His last directorial was JK Enum Nanbanin Vaazhkai in 2015.
