The distribution rights of the Nagarjuna starrer Officer, which is directed by Ram Gopal Varma, has been sold out like hot cakes. In a statement to the media, the filmmakers had said: “In Nizam region, ‘Officer’ producers will release the movie on their own while Kamakshi Movies will be distributing the movie in Krishna district. Sri Subramaneswara Cine Creations will release ‘Officer’ through Prince Films in the rest of Andhra Pradesh.”

This statement has put an end to all rumours about the film not getting distributors for the Nizam region. It looks like the producers decided to hold on to the prestigious region instead of handing it out to others. Officer is an action crime entertainer that is directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma under his banner R Company Production. The film has Nagarjuna Akkineni playing the title role with Myra Sareen as his heroine.

The star cast also includes Feroz Abbasi, Sayaji Shinde and Ajay in supporting roles. Ravi Shankar is the music director for this venture while the camera work has been done by Bharat Vyas N and Rahul Penumatsa. Anwar Ali and R. Kamal have done the editing. With the distribution rights sold out, the makers of Officer are gearing up for release on  the June 1st.

Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma have teamed up for Siva (1989), Shiva (1990), Antham (1992) and Govinda Govinda (1994) in the past and Officer is their fifth film together. With the duo teaming up after nearly 25 years, expectations are high on the film. Interestingly, Nag is playing a police officer in the film and his look in it has gone viral already. Well, with the release date being just a few days away, fans are waiting for Officer to arrive eagerly.

The actor was last seen in Ohmkar’s Horror comedy Raju Gari Gadhi 2, which was produced by Prasad V Potluri under PVP Cinema, Matinee Entertainments & OAK Entertainments banner. The film also starred his daughter-in-law Samantha Akkineni. Meantime, director Ohmkar had recently confirmed that the sequel to RGG2 is on cards and that the sequel likely to fall under the thriller entertainer genre.
