Former Union Minister and TDP leader Bolla Bulli Ramaiah passed away at the age of 92 in Tanuku, Andhra Pradesh.
He reportedly died due to an age-related illness.
He joined the Telugu Desam Party in 1992 when the party was founded. He became a Member of Parliament in 1984.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1984, 1991, 1996 and 1999.
He also served as the Minister of Commerce between 1996 and 1998 as part of the United Front.
He served as the Managing Director of Andhra Petrochemicals Limited since 1984 and as the Chairman, Managing Director and MD of Tech of Andhra Sugars Limited.
Condolence messages poured in on social media.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also offered his condolences.
“I offer my deepest condolences to Bolla Bulli Ramaiah and his family. His contribution to the TDP is immense,” he tweeted.

In a statement, he also reportedly said that “his death is a deep loss for the party.”
“The death of senior TDP leader and former cabinet minister Bolla Bulli Ramaiah is sad. I pray to God that his soul rest in peace,” tweeted P Manikya Rao, AP Endowments Minister.
