 Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s declared assets seem to be on a steep incline from her previous declarations. On Friday, Jayalalithaa filed her nomination papers to contest in the June 27 RK Nagar bye-elections and her current assets have increased two-fold in a matter of four years.The AIADMK chief, Jayalalithaa’s total assets declared in the 26-page affidavit as Rs. 117.13 crore is more than double what she had declared when contesting in 2011 Srirangam Assembly elections at Rs. 51.40 crore. Before that, her declared assets in 2006 were Rs. 24.7 crore.The increase in assets can mainly be traced to increase in worth of property, especially her house in Chennai's Poes Gardens.As per the documents submitted, the current market value of her residential building at Poes Garden which measures an area of 10 grounds equalling 24,000 sq ft. with a built-up area of 21,662 sq ft is Rs. 43.96 crore. In 2006, the value of the property was calculated at Rs. 5 crore. Purchased in 1967 by her mother and herself, it was bought at the rate of Rs. 1.32 lakh.Screenshot of Jayalalithaa's Poes Garden residence market value Two 2010 Toyota Prado SUVs, a 1980 model Ambassador car, a 2000 model Mahindra Bolero and a 1990 model Contessa , totally nine vehicles in all have a current value of Rs. 42.25 lakh.Mentioning the gold articles that were seized by police in connection with the disproportionate assets case and were lying in the Treasury of the Karnataka government,  she wrote down a proposal to get the confiscated 21280.300 gram gold back. “Since the possession of the jewels is not with me, the value could not be determined”.Movable and immovable assets as declaredA total of Rs. 9.80 crore has been deposited across 24 bank accounts in her name. Her 14.50 acres of land in Jeedimetla Village, Ranga Reddy District in Hyderabad has a current market value of Rs. 14.44 crore. With her deposits calculated at Rs. 9.80 crore, she has invested Rs. 31.68 crore in five firms as a partner including Kodanand Estate at the cost of Rs. 3.14 crore and Jaya Publications at Rs. 22.09 crore. With no dependents mentioned, agriculture was listed as her profession.
