Mani Ratnam’s upcoming multi-starrer Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (CCV), which went on the floors earlier this year, recently resumed shoot after the nearly 50-day long Kollywood strike, courtesy a stand-off between Tamil Film Producers Council and Digital Service Providers over exorbitant Visual Print Fee. Featuring an ensemble cast of Arvind Swami, Vijay Sethupathi, Simbu, Arun Vijay, Aishwarya Rajesh, Jyothika and Aditi Rao Hydari, the team has wrapped up its latest schedule in Chennai. Lensman Santosh Shivan, who has joined hands with Ratnam for the sixth time, has been sharing updates from the shoot over the last few days.

With the Chennai schedule, Arvind Swami bid adieu to the project as he was done with his portion. He took to twitter and wrote: “Just Finished my work in Chekka Chivandha Vaanam. As always it was a privilege to work with Mani Sir, @santoshsivan, and the whole crew. #CCV will be special, can feel it. Now for a day’s rest and then start promotions for Bhaskar Oru Rascal releasing on May11th.” As per the latest update, the team of CCV will next shoot in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. According to the film’s costume designer Eka Lakhani, the team left for Dubai today. She took to twitter on Tuesday and wrote: “Team CCV all set for Dubai.”

The film, which will be dubbed and released in Telugu as Nawab, has music by A.R Rahman. The project marks Ratnam’s first-time collaboration with actors such as Jyothika, Arun Vijay, Simbu and Vijay Sethupathi. Originally, the film was supposed to star Fahadh Faasil as one of the leads. Following the delay in the commencement of the project, he opted out and was eventually replaced by Arun Vijay, who has been working out really hard in the gym for the project. Simbu, too, has shed weight to essay his role in the film.
