Venu Madhav, born in Kodad in Suryapet district, wasn’t active in cinema for quite a while owing to his ill health. Last year, he had expressed interest in contesting the Assembly elections and had even filed his nomination papers to contest from Kodad.
Having made his debut in Sampradayam in 1996, Venu Madhav has acted in around 170 movies in a career spanning over two decades. Venu Madhav was a renowned mimicry artist before he tried his luck in films, in a small role in Sampradayam. In a short span of time, he rose to fame as a popular comedian with his memorable performances in films like Master, Suswagatham, Tholi Prema and Thamudu.
Some of the actors he’s worked with include Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, to name a few. He has starred in several films including Junior NTR’s Brindavanam, Prabhas’s Chatrapati, Ravi Teja’s Kick. He also starred alongside Chiranjeevi in Shankar Dada MBBS, Andarivaadu, and Jai Chiranjeeva.
Venu Madhav also acted in a couple of Tamil films. He was a popular host in Telugu channels and was last seen in the 2016 Telugu film Students Gang.
I remember how much I controlled my laughter holding the clap board when Venu Madhav gaaru was in the frame during Radha Gopalam. His energy and timing are unmatchable. God bless his soul and my deepest condolences to the family.
