Prithviraj’s ‘Ezra’ to be remade in Hindi

Prithviraj starrer Ezra is all set to be remade in Hindi. Reports are that the Malayalam horror thriller will be remade with Emraan Hashmi roped in to reprise the role done by Prithviraj Sukumaran. Jay K, who directed the original version, will be wielding the megaphone for this film as well. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Emraan Hashmi said, 'Glad to be part of this NEXT-GEN horror film. #EZRA'.

 While the groundwork for the remake is on, details about the rest of the cast and crew are expected to be out soon.

Ezra was produced jointly by AV Anoop, Mukesh R Mehta and CV Sarathy, under the banners AVA productions and E4 Entertainment. It is a horror-love story that explores the Jewish culture and has been shot extensively in Fort Kochi and Sri Lanka. The story is about a nuclear waste management specialist who shifts to Kerala with his wife who buys an antique box that unleashes horror in their lives.

Priya Anand plays Prithviraj’s wife in the film and it also has Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Vijayaraghavan, Sujith Shanker, Pratap K Pothen, Babu Antony and Bharath Dabholkar in the cast. Sujith Vaassudev has cranked the camera for Ezra while Vivek Harshan has edited the film and Rahul Raj and Sushin Shyam have composed the music.

Ezra turned out to be a mega grosser upon its release on February 10th 2017. The horror movie was one of the highest-grossing Malayalam films in 2017 as it grossed Rs 50 crore at the box-office.
