Prithviraj and director Rathish Ambat of Kammara Sambhavam fame will soon be teaming up for a film that is scripted by Murali Gopy. Rathish Ambat said in an interview to the Times of India, “The movie will be set in the current era. We are hoping to start the shooting in March 2020, after Prithviraj finishes work on Aadujeevitham. Murali is currently working on the script, so any details about the character or the plot would be premature at this stage.”
Murali Gopy shares a good rapport with both Prithviraj and Rathish Ambat. He penned Prithviraj’s maiden directorial Lucifer and worked with Rathish in Kammara Sambhavam.
Lucifer is not only a big success in Kerala but across the globe as well. The film did well abroad as well, with the box office collections soaring. Being Prithviraj’s first directorial, there were huge expectations on Lucifer and it paid off well at the box office.
Lucifer had Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith, and the Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles. Mohanlal played the lead character of Stephen Nedumpally in the political thriller, produced by Antony Perumbavoor.
It was revealed that Prithviraj and Murali Gopy will be teaming up for a sequel to the film, titled Empuraan. Mohanlal announced the title on his Facebook page with a short video clip.
While the groundwork for this is on, Prithviraj will complete his work for Aadujeevitham, directed by Blessy. This film is based on the novel of the same title, penned by Benyamin. The story revolves around a migrant worker from India who is forced to herd goats in the deserts of the Middle East and lead a slave like existence. Oscar winning musician AR Rahman, who last composed for a Malayalam film 27 years ago, is behind the music of Aadujeevitham.
