Mohanlal has put out the second teaser of his film Odiyan on Twitter. The film that has been much discussed for the new look of the star will mark the directorial debut of ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon.

The new teaser shows Mohanlal walking away from a house with some heavy background music. His voice can be heard saying “We can now see the ‘podivelakal’ (small tricks) of Odiyan Manickan.” The first teaser that came out in May this year had not revealed much.
The film with a huge star cast including Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj, is scripted by National Award winner K Harikrishnan. Prakash Raj and Mohanlal had earlier come together in Mani Ratnam’s Iruvar nearly two decades ago.
The rest of the cast include Innocent, Siddique, Manoj Joshi, Nandhu, Narain, Kailash, Sreejaya Nair, Sana Althaf and Appani Sarath.
In a much younger, toned avatar, Mohanlal as Odiyan had raised a lot of skepticism as to whether the actor would be able to pull off the look. It has been reported that Mohanlal will be seen in different looks in Odiyan between the ages of 30 and 65. Apparently, the actor has worked out over eight hours every day to achieve the much younger look.
The shooting of Odiyan began last year and was wrapped up in April. The film requiring a lot of VFX is currently in the post production stage. It may be mentioned here that Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s NY VFXWAALA is handling the film’s VFX.
The teaser also says that the film will be released on October 11 this year.
