Actor Ajith and filmmaker H Vinoth, who have teamed up for upcoming courtroom drama Nerkonda Paarvai, are reuniting for another project which will also be bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. Currently dubbed as Thala 60, the film is tipped to feature Ajith in the role of a cop and if the grapevine is anything to go by, then SJ Suryah is most likely to play the antagonist.

The actor had played a psychopath in Mahesh Babu’s Spyder. Suryah is currently basking in the success of his latest outing Monster, a children’s film in which a house rat makes life miserable for him after he moves into a new apartment.

Apparently, Boney Kapoor met Suryah last week in Chennai to discuss the project and is said to have even got him to give his nod in principle. In a recent media interaction, Suryah said he will concentrate on acting going forward after the grand reception for Monster.

He also said that he will be very choosy about playing a negative role as he has earned a new set of audiences with Monster. “It was very heartening to see children and family audiences warm up to Monster. Their love for the film has given me a new lease of life and I’ll be careful about the roles I choose going forward,” Suryah had said.

Asked if he will stop playing a negative role, he said: “I don’t want to play a regular villain with no purpose. If I look at my roles in Mersal and Spyder, I played the antagonist with an ideology. That’s the kind of roles I’d like to play.”

The official announcement about Thala 60 is expected to be made very soon. With Nerkonda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of Pink, gearing up for release this August chances are Ajith might line up Thala 60 for Pongal 2020 release. The project is expected to go on the floors from July if everything goes as planned.
