Bharaate, the Srimurali starrer which is being directed by Chethan Kumar, will have nine villains. With the story requiring nine baddies to fight it out with the hero, the director is in the process of picking out some of the best actors in the industry.

Names such as Jagapathi Babu, Sampath Kumar, Suman and Sonu Sood are being considered to play the negative roles but none have been finalised yet. While it is said that it will be a family entertainer, reports about the presence of nine villains in the film has raised the curiosity levels among movie buffs. Produced by Supreeth under his banner, the film will have Sreeleela playing the woman lead. Bhuvan Gowda has been roped in to crank the camera for the film, while Mohan B Kere is taking care of the art department.

In an interview to the Times of India last month, Srimurali had said, “The film is called Bharaate, which is another synonym for joru (noise). It signifies the noise that also makes some sense. The character I play is unstoppable in his approach to whatever he wants to do.”

Srimurali made his acting debut in the Kannada film industry with Chandra Chakori in 2003 and went on to win the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Kanti the very next year. He has acted in films such as Sri Harikathe, Ugramm, Rathavara and others. His last film release was last year’s Mufti, in which he shared screen space with his cousin and superstar Shiva Rajkumar. The action crime thriller, which turned out to be huge hit, was directed by Narthan and also starred Shanvi Srivastava, Madhu Guruswamy and Vasishta N Simha. Released on December 1, 2017, the film was produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner Jayanna Combines.
