Kiccha Sudeep and Anup Bhandari were supposed to collaborate on a film titled Billa Ranga Baasha but this project has been shelved for now. According to the latest reports, the actor-director duo will be working on a new project which is tentatively titled Phantom. However, there is no official confirmation on the title yet. Manjunath Gowda, a close associate of Sudeep, will be bankrolling the film under his banner.

Reports suggest that Anup floored Sudeep with such an impressive script that the actor decided to shelve Billa Ranga Baashaa, which had been announced earlier. The groundwork for Phantom is going on and we can expect an official announcement soon.

Sudeep’s yet another Kannada film to release this year will be Kotigobba 3. While Sudeep himself has penned Kotigobba 3, it is directed by debutant Shiva Karthik. Arjun Janya is composing music for this venture while Shekar Chandru is handling the camera. Madonna Sebastian will be playing the female lead in this flick with Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani is an important role. This film is scheduled to hit the silver screens on November 1 this year to coincide with the Karnataka Rajayotsava Day.

Incidentally, Sudeep’s Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy hit the marquee on October 2 to positive reviews. The film stars the Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi in the title role. Sye Raa was bankrolled by his son and actor Ram Charan Teja under his home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs 200 crores. It also has a bevy of stars from different film industries, including Amitabh Bachchan, Vijay Sethupathi, Jagapathi Babu, Pragya Jaiswal and Brahmaji. R. Rathnavelu did the camera work for this film with A Sreekar Prasad editing it and Amit Trivedi wielding the music baton. It is a trilingual that was released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
