A few weeks ago, there were reports that director Santhosh Jayakumar’s film with actor Gautham Karthik was dropped. KE Gnanavel Raja’s Studio Green was supposed to bankroll the film under the title Theemai Thaan Vellum. But news has now surfaced that this project has been revived with Arvind Swami roped in to play the role. Mathiazhagan of Etcetera Entertainments is producing the venture. The technical crew of this film will comprise D Imman for music and Ballu for cinematography. The official pooja happened and more details about the rest of the star cast and crew will be out soon.

It may be noted that after the release of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, a hit movie, Arvind Swami hasn’t had a single film release despite Sathuranga Vettai 2’s shooting, which was wrapped up a long time ago. Reports say that the actor has refused to dub for the film as his payment is yet to be settled. Sources say that the film’s producer, Manobala could not settle the actor’s dues as one of the distributors who had bought the theatrical rights of the film did not pay him yet.

While the fate of Sathuranga Vettai 2 is hanging in the balance, Arvind Swami has stopped acting in Kallapart when the filmmakers had completed 80% of the shooting, we hear. Reports are that the star refused to join the sets after coming to know the film’s producer is a defaulter and had not paid several actors and technicians in the past.

Besides these two films, Aravind Samy also has Vanangamudi and Naragasooran in his kitty. Both these films have been completed and are awaiting a release date.

It was initially announced that Naragasooran will be bankrolled by Gautham's production house Ondraga Entertainment along with Badri Kasturi's Shraddha Entertainment. Later, Gautham Menon released a press release about how he is in no way connected to the film's delay and handed over the project to Badri Kasturi who has pumped in a major share of the production cost.
