The chief operating officer of Flipkart, Nitin Seth, has resigned from the company, citing personal reasons according to a report by Madhav Chanchani in Economic Times.

He was in charge of logistics unit Ekart and also handled corporate functions like strategy and human resources (HR) till recently, the report adds.

ET had earlier reported that CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy had taken over the HR function last week.

This development is likely to strengthen the CEO’s grip, as he will be in charge of all the key functions of the organization, says the report.

Nitin Seth had joined the firm in February 2016 as chief people officer (CPO). In the middle of 2016, he was elevated to chief administrative officer (CAO) before he was finally given the title of COO in January 2017.

Prior to joining Flipkart, he worked as the MD of Fidelity International where he wa overseeing its offshore operations across India and Tunisia.

On January 11, 2017, three top executives had resigned from the e-commerce firm. This included Saikiran Krishnamurthy, the former head of Flipkart’s logistics business, marketing chief Samardeep Subandh and products chief Surojit Chatterjee.

The Bengaluru-based company is currently in talks to acquire rival Snapdeal and will need to re-distribute the over 1,000 employees at the company, the ET report adds.
