Online hospitality major OYO unveiled its vision for the year 2020 where it plans to hire over 2020 technology experts and engineers by 2020. The announcement was made at the launch of OYO’s maiden tech conference ‘OYO Check-in 2018’.

The event also witnessed a product showcase that highlighted technology applications introduced by OYO in order to automate every customer, hotel partner and OYOprenuer.

“At OYO, we currently have 700 technology experts and engineers that have developed over 20 in-house products helping 10,000+ asset partners globally and making them better hospitality players. With another 2020 experts joining us by 2020, we will continue to invest in technologies like artificial intelligence, machine learning, and IoT, that will make curated guest experiences at every price point a reality, while ensuring sustainable incomes for partners and livelihood opportunities for several Indians,” Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO, OYO, said.

OYO has been betting big on technology to make its operations more efficient. It claims to have 20+ technological innovations to its name.

At present, OYO offers multiple app-based solutions both for its customers, employees and asset partners. It has a Property Manager app that acts as an end to end one-stop solution tablet-based app for managing all daily functions of the property. Its owner app helps give asset owners a visibility of cash flows, business performance, pricing, customer reviews and recommendations. It also has AI-based algorithms that help in predicting the most suited properties at best location at correct price for customers.

Apart from technology, Oyo has also been expanding its presence across the globe. After foraying into China, Malaysia and Nepal, it most recently announced its foray into London, the United Kingdom, marking its first market beyond Asia.

Oyo will be investing £40 million in UK and will launch operations in 10 cities, including Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Edinburgh by 2020.
