While there has been no official confirmation, it has been revealed through a poster on Twitter that Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film is titled ‘Kurudhi Pookkal’ and stars Karthi and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles.
While the Twitteratti are relentlessly publishing the first look poster of this film on their pages, some of them have cited that it is loosely based on the novel ‘Sempre’, which has the same cover design as in the first look poster.
It looks like years after ‘Dil Se’, Mani Ratnam is back with a love story interwoven with a complicated situation of terrorism and social issues.
Moreover, with the shooting process delayed, there is some buzz that Sai Pallavi might walk out of the project.
Meanwhile, AR Rahman is composing the music and P.C. Sriram is handling cinematography with Vairamuthu and his son Madan Karky penning the lyrics.
It is learnt that Karthi plays an NRI pilot who falls in love with a doctor played by Sai Pallavi on a flight from New York to Chennai.
