Newlyweds Arya and Sayyeshaa, who had previously worked together in Gajinikanth, are set to reunite for upcoming children’s comedy Teddy, which will be directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik fame.
To be bankrolled by Studio Green, the project marks the first-time collaboration of Arya and Shakti and the full-fledged production will begin from May onwards. While the makers haven’t officially announced the heroine’s name, reliable sources have confirmed that Sayyeshaa has been signed following Arya’s request.
The film’s title was released on March 10 to coincide with Arya’s marriage and director Shakti's birthday. On the same day, the team even commenced shooting and canned a couple of scenes.
However, the regular shooting will commence from May or June. The film will be predominantly shot in Chennai and some exotic places in Europe. The movie, which has music by D Imman, will be a one-of-its-kind outing in Arya’s career.
The rest of the cast of Teddy, including the heroine, will be finalised soon, according to reports. There are rumours that the film could be a remake of Hollywood’s hit comedy Ted starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.
Arya currently awaits the release of Suriya’s Kaappaan, in which he is believed to have played the antagonist. Sayyeshaa, who was last seen in Gajinikanth, is also part of Kaappaan, in which she’s paired with Suriya.
She has featured in a promotional song in GV Prakash Kumar’s upcoming thriller Watchman, which has been directed by AL Vijay.
There is also a buzz that Arya is said to have bagged an another project with the Lyca Productions which is to be directed by Muthaiah, popular for his rural-based projects such as Komban and Marudhu.
