Varun Tej made his acting debut as a child artiste in Hands Up in 2000 and it was in 2014 that he was seen as a hero for the first time in Mukunda. He then went to star in Kanche, which is touted to be the first Indian movie to be made on World War II. Directed by Krish, Kanche was the story of a barber’s young son, played by Varun Tej, going to fight in WWII. The film turned out to be a big hit.

The young actor’s Fidaa, released last year was a big hit which has upped his star status in the Telugu film industry. This has also raised expectations about his next but the youngster seems to be in no hurry to sign on the dotted line. Varun Tej knows his limitations where stunts and dance are concerned; therefore, he is looking for the right script, according to sources.

The buzz is that he is in talks with ace producer Dil Raju and director Anil Ravipudi, to star in their upcoming project F2. Two other projects for which he is in talks are, with director Sankalp Reddy of The Ghazi Attack fame and the makers of Haathi Meri Saathi.

Fidaa, directed by Shekhar Kammula, starred Varun Tej and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The film was produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations. Made on a budget of Rs. 13 crores, Fidaa went on to fetch its producers about Rs. 90 crores making it a box office success.

With a big hit like Fidaa under his belt, it needs to be seen what Varun Tej’s next film would be. But the young star is in no hurry to sign up until he gets the perfect script that would suit his image and acting skills, say sources.
