The first look poster of the film Ambili has been released. Directed by Guppy-fame Johnpaul George, the film will have Soubin Shahir playing the titular character. The actor took to his social media handle to release the first look poster of the film.

The poster shows Soubin standing with a bunch of flowers in a colourful background - bordered by trees with more flowers. He is laughing openly, innocently in the frame, wearing winter clothes. The title had the 'A' of Ambili shaped like a bicycle.

The story and script are written by the director. The film also features Naveen Nazim, brother of actor Nazriya Nazim and Tanvi Ram, a Kannur native, who are playing the two other leads in the film. Vettukili Prakash and Jaffer Idukki will be seen playing other important characters. The film will reportedly be shot in the locales of Idukki, Bengaluru, Rann of Kutch, Goa, Rajasthan and Ladakh.

Ambili is bankrolled by Mukesh R Mehtha, AV Anoop and CV Sarathi under the banners of E4 Entertainments and AVA Productions. Sharan Velayudhan is the cinematographer and Kiran Das is the editor. Vishnu Vijay will be seen handling the music department. The film is set to release by July this year.

The detail's of Soubin’s character in Ambili hasn't been disclosed yet.

It is good times for Soubin, who has just shared the state award for best actor with Jayasurya, winning it for his effortless portrayal of a small town football manager in Sudani from Nigeria. He is also being largely hailed for his performance in the recently released Kumbalangi Nights, that tells the tale of four brothers, and that’s been receiving a lot of lovely reviews.

Soubin also has more projects waiting for him - Android Kunjappan ver. 5.25 which is helmed by debutant Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval,  Dulquer Salmaan’s  Oru Yamandan Premakadha,  Kalidas Jayaram’s Jack n Jill directed by veteran filmmaker and cinematographer Santosh Sivan and Virus, directed by Aashiq Abu.
