U Turn, a Kannada film directed by Pawan Kumar, hit the marquee in 2016 and turned out to be a blockbuster. A horror thriller, U Turn had Shraddha Srinath in the lead, while Radhika Chetan, Dileep Raj and Roger Narayan featured as the supporting cast.

While there have been reports about U Turn being remade in Hindi, sources in the know say that the producer to bankroll the film has not been finalised yet. However, it is confirmed that Pawan Kumar will be donning the director’s robes for the Hindi remake as well. The lead star cast has not been signed up as yet.

U Turn, which was also written by Pawan Kumar, was bankrolled by him under his banner Pawan Kumar Studios on a budget of Rs 2.5 crore. The film was both a commercial as well as a critical success. The technical crew of U Turn comprised Poornachandra Tejaswi for scoring the music, cinematographers Advaitha Gurumurthy, Sathya Hegde and Siddharth Suni cranking the camera and Suresh Arumugam for editing.

U Turn revolved around the mystery behind the death of motorists who die tragically after breaking traffic rules on a particular flyover in Bengaluru.

It may be mentioned here that the Tamil – Telugu remake of U Turn went on the floors early this year and will hit screens worldwide on September 13. Pawan Kumar is wielding the megaphone for this version as well. The remake has Samantha Akkineni playing the lead role. It will also star Narain, Aadi Pinisetty and Rahul Ravindran in pivotal roles. Reports say that Aadi will be seen playing a police officer while Rahul will feature as Samantha’s love interest.

With the Tamil – Telugu remake well on the path to release in a couple of months, we can expect the Hindi remake to go on the floors soon.
