Following the first look poster of the Karthi starrer Kadai Kutty Singam that was released on Pongal this year, more pictures from the film are out. The first look showed him riding a bullet with the number plate reading “Farmer”. The film’s tagline is "payir seiya virumbu" (love to farm).

From the pictures, we can see that actor Karthi plays a farmer in the film.

This village-based family entertainer will have Sayyeshaa in the female lead. Sayeesha debuted in Tamil with Vanamagan last year. Her first film however was Akhil in Telugu.

Actor Priya Bhavanishankar who debuted in Meyaadha Maan will also be playing an important role in the film.

The movie also has Arthana, Bhanupriya, Sreeman, Soori, and Ponvannan playing supporting roles. The recent pictures have revealed that veteran actor Sathyaraj is playing Karthi’s father in the film.

D Imman is composing music and Velraj is handling the camera department. The film will also be released in Telugu as Chinna Babu.

The film recently ran into trouble with Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) when the team went ahead and shot the rekla (bullock cart race) sequence in spite of AWBI denying permission. The committee had denied pre-shoot permission when the producers approached the AWBI.

Directed by Pandiraj of Pasanga fame, the film is bankrolled by Suriya’s 2D Productions which mark’s Karthi’s first association with his brother Suriya.

Kadai Kutty Singam is 2D entertainment’s fifth venture. Their previous film, Magalir Mattum starring Jyothika largely received positive feedback.

Actor Karthi was last seen in Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, an action crime thriller that received great reviews. This film marks the actor’s 17th film.

Director Pandiraj won several awards with his debut film Pasanga. His previous directorial venture was Idhu Namma Aalu, starring Simbu and Nayanthara in the lead.
