Suriya's next with director Sudha Kongara titled 'Soorarai Pottru'

Actor Suriya who awaits the release of Selvaraghavan's NGK is teaming up with Irudhi Suttru fame Director Sudha Kongara. The project had an official launch ceremony last Sunday

The film's first look and the title were released on Saturday. Titled Soorarai Pottru, the first look poster has the actor in a typical shirt and dhoti outfit against the background of a gigantic aeroplane.

Co-produced by Guneet Monga in association with 2D Entertainment, the regular shooting commenced recently. In her latest interview to The Hindu, Guneet confirmed that Suriya 38 will be based on the life of Captain Gopinath of Air Deccan. The film also stars Aparna Balamurali, last seen in Rajiv Menon’s Sarvam Thaala Mayam, as the female lead 

The news about Sudha's film with Suriya has been doing the rounds for more than a year now.  Suriya was mighty impressed with Sudha's Irudhi Suttru and expressed interest to collaborate. In early 2017, Sudha pitched the story idea which Suriya really liked. Since he was busy Singam 3, Thaana Serntha Kootam and Kaappan he had to postpone the project.

Meanwhile, the makers of NGK have released the first single 'Thandalkaaran' from the film, crooned by  KG Ranjith and the lyrics penned by Kabilan. Touted to be a political thriller the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Yuvan and Selvaraghavan is a success combo and the two coming together has aroused curiosity among fans. Produced by  SR Prakashbabu and SR Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has been made on a lavish budget. 

Suriya is currently busy with KV Anand's Kaappaan which is on the verge of completion and the makers are planning to release the trailer of the film on Sunday. Touted to be an action-thriller co-starring Malayalam superstar Mohanlal as the Indian Prime Minister, and Arya playing his son.

The film has been scripted jointly by director KV Anand and veteran writer Pattukottai Prabhakar and has been bankrolled by A Subashkaran on a huge budget under his banner Lyca Productions.
