Tovino Thomas's upcoming film Forensic was launched recently with the official muhurat that happened in Palakkad. According to sources, Tovino will be seen playing a medico-legal advisor who works with the Kerala Police’s Forensic Science Lab and his character is named Samuel John Kaattookaran.

The film is written and directed by the scriptwriters of Prithviraj starrer 7th Day -- Akhil Paul and Anas Khan. The tagline of Forensic reads 'The science of a crime'. It may be noted here that the film was supposed to be directed by cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Sujith Vaassudev but he walked out due to date issues following which Akhil Paul and Anas Khan took over.

Mamta Mohandas has been roped in to play the female lead in the film, with Saiju Kurup, Giju John, Reba Monica John, Dhanesh Anand, and Anil Murali forming the supporting cast. The film is produced by Navis Xaviour and Siju Mathew under the banner of Juvis Productions and Raju Malliath’s Ragam Movies. The film's technical crew comprises Akhil George for cinematography, Jakes Bejoy for music, Shameer Muhammed for editing, Dileepnath for art direction, Sameera Saneesh for costume designing, Rajashekar for stunts and Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar for sound designing.

Tovino currently has a number of films in different stages of production. Reports are that he might be roped in for playing a crucial role in Dulquer Salmaan starrer Kurup. We hear that Tovino may be playing a character called Chacko in it and that it might be a cameo appearance. Tovino also has 563 St. Charles Street, Kilometers and Kilometers, Minnal Murali, Joe and a few other projects. Of this, Kilometers and Kilometers is in the post-production stage.

His last release was Edakkad Battalion 06, in which he played an army officer. The film was directed by debutant Swapnesh K Nair.
