Vijay Devarakonda’s look in the upcoming bilingual Mahanati/Nadigayar Thilagam is out and has garnered the attention of the film buffs. Dressed in a retro look, he is seen sporting a checkered shirt with a camera dangling on this neck. According to sources, he plays a journalist and will be seen paired up with Samantha Akkineni.
The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. While the Telugu version has been titled Mahanati, the Tamil version is Nadigayar Thilagam .The film is all set to release on May 9 and the post-production work is happening full swing.
The first looks of Keerthy Suresh and Samantha have been released already and have set the expectations high. With Vijay Devarakonda’s look also being out, fans just can’t wait for the film’s release.
Directed by Nag Ashwin, this biopic on the late actor Savitri will have Keerthy Suresh playing the title role while Samantha will be seen as a journo on whose perspective the life of the legendary actor will be narrated.
The biopic has an ensemble of stars in the cast including Keerthy Suresh as Savitri, Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan, Samantha Akkineni as Madhuravani, Vijay Devarakonda as Vijay Anthony, Shalini Pandey as Jamuna, Prakash Raj as Aluri Chakrapani, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao and Naga Chaitanya as Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
Mickey J Meyer has composed music for Mahanati/Nadigayar Thilagam while Dani Sanchez-Lopez had cranked the camera. The film is bankrolled by the prestigious banner Vyjayanthi Movies.
According to reports, a lot of research has gone into the project with director Nag Ashwin relying not just on books to know about the life of actor Savitri. He has also interacted with several of her colleagues in the film industry including directors, producers and fellow artistes. This biopic is sure to throw light on the life that the successful actor had led and her downfall.
