Actor Vinayakan has revealed in an interview to The Cue that he has composed music for a song in the upcoming Fahadh Faasil starrer Trance. He also plays an important role in the film. The actor has ventured into music composition before this – composing the song Puzhu Pulikal in Rajeev Ravi’s Kammattipaadam which went on to become a huge hit.

The first look poster of Trance was released a few months ago. The film is directed and produced by Anwar Rasheed. It is scripted by Vadakkan Vincent. Apart from Fahadh and Vinayakan, the cast includes Soubin Shahir, Chemban Vinod, Sreenath Bhasi and Alphonse Puthren. Anwar Rasheed is also handling the cinematography of the film.

Earlier, when the film was announced, there were reports that Fahadh plays a priest in it but the filmmakers are keeping every other detail about it under wraps.

While Trance is slated for release later this year, Thottappan, that will have Vinayakan in the lead, is releasing next week for Eid. In The Cue interview, Vinayakan makes it clear that the film is about the relationship between a father and a daughter. There is no violence in it and no scenes where he has to take a knife – as opposed to quite a few of the characters he has done before.

The film has the actor in two different get-ups. Directed by Shanavas K Bavakutty of Kismath fame, it has the actor playing a youngster and an aged man. While Vinayakan plays the lead role in this film, the cast also includes veteran writer Raghunath Paleri, actors Roshan Mathew, Priyamvada, Lal and Dileesh Pothan in supporting roles. The technical crew of this film includes Suresh Rajan for cinematography. The screenplay for Thottappan has been written by PS Rafeeq. The film is bankrolled by Shailaja Manikandan and Devadas Kadanchery.
