The trailer of actor Amala Paul’s much awaited film Aadai was released on Saturday. The trailer shows an assertive Amala Paul (Kamini) wearing shades and gloves. Kamini appears to be in the habit of placing bets and entering challenges. Her mother played by Sriranjani, warns her against this behaviour and says that this may turn into an addiction.

In the next scene, the actor is seen drinking with her friends and saying, “Are we humans born wearing a dress? So if everyone removes their dress, that becomes our actual birthday dress.”

The title of the film Aadai in Tamil means "dress".

We also get to see the crazy avatars of Kamini who loves riding bikes, parties and hangs out with her office teammates.

The trailer describes Kamini as ‘arrogant’, ‘audacious’ and ‘artistic’.

She’s seen even in the costume of Harley Quinn from Batman. As if to make up for all the eccentricity, there's also a shot where she’s seen praying in a temple in a saree, juxtaposed with her lifestyle shown in the other scenes.

The teaser of the film which released last month, piqued interest as the actor appears to have done a nude shot. Amala also alleged that the teaser cost her an opportunity to act with actor Vijay Sethupathi.  The producer of ‘VSP33’ had reportedly removed her from the film, accusing her of not being ‘production-friendly’. However, Amala Paul in a strong response stated that she was removed from the film only because of the Aadai teaser.

“It’s just a patriarchal, egoistic, traditional mind-set of Chandarra Arts Production (production house of "VSP33") that this is happening right after the release of Aadai Teaser and my image is sabotaged with multiple baseless rumours that are mischievously being floated around in the industry,” she wrote.

Aadai is written and directed by Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame. The cinematography is by Vijay Karthik Kannan while the music has been composed by singer Pradeep Kumar’s band- Oorga. The film is produced by Viji Subramanian and will release on July 19.
