“You are going to have one hell of a time, watch out,” Samantha promises viewers at the end of the teaser of her upcoming film, Oh Baby! As promised, the teaser is a fun ride into the world of a 70-year-old single mother, played by veteran actor Lakshmi, who gets transformed into a 20-year-old young singer, played by Samantha. But neither is Lakshmi sad or disappointed with the change, instead she lives her life to the fullest, trapped inside the body of the young woman.
Samantha looks chirpy in the role of an old woman who has got a second innings at life. In the one-minute long teaser, Samantha narrates how she lost her husband at a very young age and looked after her kids and now also has grandchildren. As she narrates her story, her young friend refuses to believe her and laughs it off saying she has a good sense of humour. Wearing bright colourful clothes and walking around with polka dotted umbrellas, the film is the journey of the old grandmother’s new found life.
Samantha has called the film a special one and close to her heart. The teaser of the film has already garnered 3.6 million views on YouTube.
The film is the remake of the South Korean comedy-drama film Miss Granny that was directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. Na Moon-hee stars as a woman in her '70s who magically finds herself in the body of her 20-year-old self after getting photographed at a mysterious photo studio.
The Korean film is remade by director BV Nandini Reddy. Oh Baby! Yentha Sakkagunnave’s star cast also includes Rao Ramesh and Naga Shaurya in important roles. The film is bankrolled by Sunita Tati under the banner People's Media Factory and Suresh Productions. Mickey J. Meyer is composing music for this film.
Samantha’s last film release was Majili, in which she had shared screen space with her husband Naga Chaitanya. It was a romantic drama directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Sahu Garapati, Harish Peddi, Sushil Choudhary under the banner of Shine Screens Production Rad Film Production.
