The second trailer for Mani Ratnam's Chekka Chivantha Vanaam was released on Saturday. The film, which is due to hit the screens on September 28, has several big stars in the cast. As the first trailer revealed, the plot will revolve around three brothers and their struggle to succeed their father, played by Prakash Raj.

The second trailer begins with Simbu talking about how he cannot stop thinking about who will be the heir to their father's empire. We also see Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays a journalist and is having a relationship with Aravind Swamy's character, Varadan, questioning him about the same. While the first trailer ended with Jyothika, who plays Varadan's wife, asking if there was going to be a war, the second one has Varadan telling her that his brothers should be careful. We also see Varadan along with Rasool, played by Vijay Sethupathi. Arun Vijay also features in the trailer, which is set against the Chivanthu Pochu Nenje song.

The trailer also hints at a shoot out between the brothers even as Arun Vijay and his kids are threatened at a swimming pool. Arun Vijay emerges out of the water with a vengeance.

While the first trailer had established that Rasool, a police officer, seemingly had a liking for crime, frequently hanging out with Varadan, the second one shows him pushing his luck with his thug buddy, asking if a supposed con job had been Varadan's doing.

The trailer packs a lot of action after dark, with fights in dimly lit alleys and shootouts in crowded bazaars.

When Aditi Rao Hydari asks Aravind Swamy's character, Varadan, who will be the heir to his father Senapathi’s (played by Prakash Raj) throne, Arvind Swami, clad in a white towel, replies in the affirmative.

Simbhu who is seen in a couple of scenes with Rasool, warns his brother Varadan that he had set off all the bloodshed.

The trailer ends with a peppy montage of the main men.

With music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Santosh Sivan, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is expected to release on September 28. The film has been produced by Lyca.
