Calling out actor Vijay’s fans for being abusive online, popular comedian Karunakaran made an appeal to the star, asking him to advise his fans against their behavior.

The comedian who is quite outspoken on Twitter, made a reference to the speech made by Vijay at the Sarkar audio launch, and wrote, “Is your advice only for leaders or also for actors? Ask your fans not to be abusive, friend. Please ask them not to be abusive and hateful.”

Vijay had said, “If the leader is just, the government will flourish. But it just takes time.”

As expected, Karunakaran’s tweet led to self-proclaimed fans of Vijay abusing him for taking a dig at the actor. Some of them tried making fun of him by editing his Wikipedia page and changing his hometown to Andhra Pradesh to suggest that he is not from Tamil Nadu. But Karunakaran wasn’t the one to give up so easily, the actor responded to all the trolls and gave a befitting response.

When one Twitter user wrote an abusive reply for his tweet, he shot back with yet another message which Vijay gave at the audio launch. “Kaduppavudhu na Gammunu irukkaanum appo Thaan Life Jammunu irukkum bro.” (sic)

While film industry people refrain from expressing their opinions, particularly when it involves superstars like Vijay or Ajith, knowing the online harassment would follow, Karunakaran went ahead and said that he started disliking Vijay only because of abusive fans.

This was actor Karunakaran and Vijay fans’ second bout. Previously, Vijay fans were outraged after Karunakaran posted a cryptic tweet during the Kollywood strike in March. While the entire industry was on a strike due to disagreement between the producers and Digital Service Providers, Vijay’s Sarkar team was shooting after obtaining special permission. Taking a dig at Vijay, Karunakaran had written, “Tamizannu sonnaley thimir yerum unmaya illa just song uh”, a reference to Vijay’s song from Mersal.

Irked by this, Karunakaran was harassed by self-proclaimed Vijay fans.  Though he kept mum for a while, unable to take the hatred and abusive messages, he later threatened to take legal action against such harassers.
