Many students of the Kasargode Government College, who sat for an examination on Saturday, were in for a surprise as the question paper was prepared by the Students Federation of India (SFI).

The mock test conducted by the CPI (M)’s student union, began with a sober reminder that those who eat beef should not enter the examination hall.

The first question was ‘Who is the father of the nation’? The two options given were Mahatma Gandhi or Nathuram Godse.

The question paper with 14 questions also asked students whether BR Ambedkar or Golwakar was the architect of the constitution and whether the basis of India’s democracy was its constitution or the Manusmriti.

Taking a dig at the current JNU controversy in which communists have been portrayed as ‘anti-nationals’, the test asked who India’s greatest enemy was and listed poverty and communists as the two options.

Which is the party that has aligned with the PDP that was opposed to Afzal Guru’s hanging was another question. The other questions too sarcastically referred to controversies like cow slaughter, celebrating Gandhi’s assassin and asking ‘anti- nationals’ to go to Pakistan.

A student leader from the college said there was no option but to resort to sarcasm to counter the BJP’s propaganda.
