A vigilance in Kerala has ordered Ernakulam Vigilance DYSP to register an FIR against Malayalam actor Jayasurya in relation to a land encroachment case.

The Moovattupuzha vigilance court on Thursday gave the order while hearing a petition filed by activist Girish Babu.

According to some media reports, the Chilavannor kayal poramboke land was allegedly encroached by the actor to build a private boat jetty and compound wall surrounding his 3000 square feet house at Kadavanthara.

The petitioner allege that these encroachments are a violation of the Coastal Protection and Management Act and the Municipal Building Rules.

On receiving the petition, a building inspector visited the place and submitted a report confirming the encroachment.

The petition came after the actor failed to act on a Cochin Corporation directive.

On February 28, 2014, Cochin Corporation had ordered the demolition of the constructions within 14 days, at the actor’s own expense.
