In the aftermath of the ‘Kerala House’ beef controversy, Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that he does not support beef fests organized in the state as nobody has opposed Keralites per se, eating beef.

In an interview, Chandy said, “I am against beef fests. When there is no problem, why create one? No one has raised any objections to Keralites eating beef.”

Chandy has however vehemently voiced his protest against the recent action of Delhi Police where they barged into the Kerala state guesthouse in Delhi over allegations that cow’s meat was being served.

Kerala House, which took beef off its menu on Tuesday following the police action has now said that it will start serving beef again.

Several groups have organized beef fests across Kerala expressing solidarity with those who have been victimized for eating beef, especially in the wake of the Dadri beef-lynching incident.
