A Kerala MLA has filed a police complaint, alleging that there might have been efforts to deliberately cause him hurt.

In his complaint to Palarivattom Sub-Inspector, Congress MLA PT Thomas said that all the nuts of the wheels of his car were found to be loosened. This, the MLA pointed out, has led him to think that this was a deliberate act intended to cause him harm.

In his one-page complaint filed on Monday, PT Thomas wrote:

"On Sunday evening, a passer by pointed out that the back-left wheel of my Innova car had some issues. When we checked it a few minutes later, we found that the nuts of this wheel had been loosened. On checking further, we found that the nuts of all the wheels of the car were found to be in the same state."

Since the car had been sent for servicing three days before to a Toyota showroom, the MLA summoned a mechanic from the company. The mechanic then said that it was possible that this was a deliberate act.

"The mechanic told me that if the nuts had gone off from the wheels during a journey, it would have led to a huge accident," the MLA said, urging the police to investigate whether it was a deliberate attempt to cause him harm.

Speaking in Ernakulam, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President MM Hassan said that the police must take the matter seriously, considering the fact that MLA Thomas had been associated with the case of the abduction and sexual assault of the woman actor.

MLA Thomas had reached the house of director Lal in Kochi - where the woman actor was dropped off following the incident - on the night of the assault.

The MLA had even raised a complaint with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, alleging that the investigation into the case was not satisfactory. In his letter to the CM, MLA Thomas had sought a CBI probe into the case.

Following this, the investigating team had recorded his statement a few days ago. Speaking to the media, MLA Thomas had said that he would convey whatever he saw and heard at the director's house on the night of the crime.
