His face is now on posters and placards; his face now has become the living example of justice being denied. As Thiruvananthapuram native Sreejith’s protest in front of the state secretariat – demanding action against the police officials responsible for the custodial death of his brother Sreejeev – crosses 770 days, the people of Kerala have come together to demand justice.

After the massive protest rally conducted by social media users last week and the online campaigns demanding justice for Sreejith, Malayalam music composer Gopi Sunder has released a music track on Sreejith’s struggle.

Released on Wednesday, the 1 minute 53 second song titled Justice For Sreejith demands that justice be served to his relentless struggle.

The lyrics for the Malayalam song have been penned by BK Harinarayanan and the song is sung by Gopi Sunder, Sithara, Abhaya Hiranmayi and Mohammed Maqbool Mansoor.

The poetic lines promise unconditional support for Sreejith, who has been fasting for his brother Sreejeev for almost 800 days, despite trying times.

“You are not alone, not alone, in your struggle. With fiery strength, we are there with you,” goes the song.

Sharing the song on his official Facebook page on Thursday, Gopi Sunder said that the entire income generated from the song will be handed over to Sreejith.

“Your one click will make a difference,” he wrote.

On YouTube alone, the video song has gotten close to 4 lakh views and has invited positive reviews from users.

Many on social media lauded Gopi Sunder’s efforts in composing the song, which is even being dubbed by many as an “anthem” for Sreejith.

While most part of 30-year-old Sreejith’s protest went unnoticed by officials and the public, the last week saw tremendous public support come Sreejith’s way. So much so that thousands of people took to the streets to show their solidarity towards his family.

On Friday, after public pressure grew, the Kerala government said that the CBI will investigate the case. However, Sreejith told media that he will not call off his protest just yet.
