After successfully stalling the performance of renowned Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali last week in Mumbai, Shiv Sena is now in a ploy to ensure that the book launch of former Pakistani Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri in the city is called off.

The veteran Pakistani artist was to perform on the event of legendary ghazal singer Jagjit Singh’s death anniversary and will now perform live on radio. The Times of India group owned Radio Mirchi will host the maestro and the performance will be telecast on all 23 stations throughout the country on Sunday 9 PM.

“Ghulam Ali sahab's music symbolises love and harmony. We are always excited to support all such activities and campaigns that promote peace and spread love among the people,” RJ Sayema said in a statement.

The Observer Research Foundation Mumbai is scheduled to host the launch of the book titled 'Neither a Hawk nor a Dove: An Insider's Account of Pakistan's Foreign Policy' by Kasuri on October 12. But now the event is in doubt after the Shiv Sena has sought to cancel the event citing the same reason of Pakistan’s role of sponsoring terror. However, the organizers are awaiting a reply of a letter which they wrote to CM Devendra Fadnavis seeking full-proof security of Kasuri during his stay.

Creating fresh controversy on Saturday, Shiv Sena leader Ashish Chemburkar told , "We have informed them that we will disrupt the event if it is not cancelled."
