The family members of the victims and witnesses in the Badaun gang rape case have agreed to go for polygraphy (lie detection) and brain maping tests as demanded by the sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to ascertain whether it was a case of rape or honour killing.

The family has approved it. The CBI sources also confirmed that the tests would be done only after the outcome of the Narco tests of the five accused which started on Tuesday and examining the DNA test of the victims. Additional District Judge S N Tripathi gave its nod on the CBI’s permission to conduct polygraph test on the parents and witness of the crime.

The Polography, brain maping and narco analysis tests on the five arrested accused in the rape and murders for two sisters in Katra Sadatganj village last month started on Tuesday. The CBI sleuths first started lie detection test at the PWD guest house in Badaun.

The court had ordered Narco and other tests on five accused including two policemen. The five accused are Pappu Yadav, Awadhesh Yadav, Urvesh Yadav, police constable Sarvesh Yadav and police head constable Chatrapal on whom the tests would be conducted.

CBI felt the necessity of lie-detection test on parents of the girls after Uttar Pradesh DGP AL Banerjee claimed that the rape of one of the victims was not confirmed. He had said that property could be one of the motives behind the heinous incident because the autopsy report confirmed that the minor girls died due to hanging and not due to strangulation.

Two sisters aged 14 and 15 were allegedly raped and later hanged from a tree in Katra Sadatganj village of Badaun district on May 27 causing a nationwide uproar. The case was handed over to the CBI on June 12.
