Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has reached yet another semi-final in her career.
On Thursday, Sania, along with her Czech partner Barbora Strýcová, breezed through the quarter-final clash at the Qatar Open with the Canadian-Croatian pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and Darija Jurak. The second seeded pair will take on American-Slovenian duo of Abigail Spears and Katarina Srebotnik later on Friday.
But, Sania claims, the win was barely covered by the Indian media, who she says were busy covering allegations of tax evasion against her.
The service taxes division of the customs department had issued a notice asking Sania to appear before authorities on February 16, either in person or through representatives.
Sania's CA appeared on her behalf. In her report, Mirza said the Rs 1 crore given to her by the Telangana government was a "training incentive".

Sania, who won 14 titles in a less than a year and a half with Switzerland's Martina Hingis, had decided to part ways last August and formed a partnership with Strycova. Her partnership with Strycova is yet to win any major tournament. The pair crashed out of the recently held Australian Open in the third round.
Sania Mirza who is majorly a doubles player in her 14-year-career has managed to win 41 Women’s Doubles WTA Titles and six grand slam titles in total.
