Micro-blogging website Twitter on Friday introduced a special emoji for Ganesh festival to delight millions of its users.
When people tweet using hashtags like #GaneshChaturthi, #HappyGaneshChaturthi or #Ganeshotsav, a Lord Ganesha emoji will be activated next to the hashtag.
The emoji will go live on September 4 and will be active until September 15 -- the last day of 10-day festival, celebrated much across the country.
"We are launching a special Twitter emoji for Ganesh Chaturthi to delight our millions of Indian users celebrating this moment," said Viral Jain, Head (Media partnerships), Twitter India, in a statement.
During the festival, people on Twitter can share photos and videos of their favourite pandals, decorations, street processions, food and sweets and traditional clothes, among others.
