On his second day at the Rajya Sabha during his current stint in Parliament, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy broke up the Upper House of Parliament with just two words.

On Thursday, Subramanian Swamy was talking about Aligarh Muslim University’s status as a minority institution. In the video, he can be seen talking about it when he is interrupted by Congress MPs. Retorting, he said, “You only know the Italian Constitution.”

This led to massive protests by Congress MPs who gathered near the well of the house disrupting the normal proceedings of the house.

Deputy Chairman P J Kurien reportedly ordered media not to report on the remarks.

The incident occurred when Samajwadi Party MP Chaudhary Munavver Saleem in Zero Hour told the House that Swamy was part of the movement in 1970s to protect the minority status of AMU.

Following Swamy’s statements Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said, ““This man (Subramanian Swamy) doesn't understand the difference between words used in streets and ones used in Parliament.” That’s when Swamy said his bit.
