Director Gautham Vasudev Menon met with an accident at 3.30 am on Thursday, when his car collided with a tipper lorry. The incident occurred near Chennai’s Sholinganallur signal, when he was travelling Mahabalipuram to Chennai.
However, Gautham escaped with minor injuries.
Images from the scene of the accident show the car that Gautham was travelling in to be badly damaged. The luxury car, which collided head on with the lorry, is barely recognizable. Although the car seems intact inside, the impact of the collision is clear, as the front of the car is a mangled mess.
The director is currently wrapping up shooting for Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram, and will soon begin filming his highly-anticipated film, Ondraga, which will see stars from all four south Indian movies. His long-awaited film, Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which stars Dhanush and newbie Megha Akash in the lead, is also in the pipeline, and will hopefully see a release soon.
Gautham Menon also has a web series lined up under his home banner Ondraga Entertainment, which will be released on YouTube on Friday. The series, Weekend Machan, revolves around the lives of four young techies based out of Chennai, who slog their way through the week just for a chance to enjoy life on the weekend.
