Holding out a statement printed on the party letterhead from her car, interim AIADMK General Secretary VK Sasikala on Sunday termed fake the letter that was allegedly written by her to the Governor.

Speaking to reporters outside ‘Veda Nilayam’, late CM Jayalalithaa’s residence, where Sasikala resides, she said, “There was a letter on social media claiming I will kill myself to the Governor. A friend sent it to me. You must have all seen it. This is not true.”

Sasikala went on to state that being a woman in politics is very difficult, adding that she has witnessed this since Jayalalithaa’s time.

The letter that has been floating on social media reads:

Respected governor,

You have not made me Chief Minister and have been delaying this matter. Because of this, the MLAs, who have been locked up by me are going to OPS’ side one by one. I can only be patient for some time. If you delay further, I will write a letter saying you are the reason for my death and I am going to commit suicide.

The fake letter surfaced a day after she issued a veiled warning to Governor Vidyasagar Rao, saying, “We have been patient so far in the interest of Democracy, but we only have so much patience. After a point, we will do what is required.”

She had also written a letter to the Governor on Saturday stating, “As it has been seven long days since the Chief Minister Thiru O Panneerselvam submitted and your Excellency accepted his resignation, taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment from Your Excellency by today along with all MLAs who extended their support to me regarding future course of action to form the Government.”
