Hyderabad may soon have its own grand temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara as the Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams (TTD) on Tuesday decided to construct one on 3.5 acres of land belonging to the board on Road No. 12, Banjara Hills.

According to a report in the Times of India, the TTD will spend Rs 13.89 crore on the temple and a sub-committee has been formed to review the price of the laddu prasadam, room rentals and fee for various arjita sevas. The panel has been directed to submit its report by the next meeting of the board.

The TTD trust board, which already runs a Balaji Bhavan in Himayatnagar in the city, met in Tirupati and unanimously decided to build the temple in Hyderabad.

The TTD owned many acres of land in Banjara Hills, which had been lying vacant for several years.

The TOI report also adds that the board decided to allocate seven acres of land to the Arvind Eye Care of Madurai for construction of a sophisticated eye hospital in Tirupati, worth a staggering Rs 100 crore to cater to the needs of people including the devotees.

The construction of the temple in Hyderabad, is expected to begin soon.
