In a bid to reduce the traffic chaos in Hyderabad's IT corridor during monsoon, the Cyberabad Traffic Police on Monday announced that the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will run more buses in the area.
Taking to Twitter, commuters were informed that bus number 216 K/W from Alwyn Colony to Waverock would be available every 12 minutes. This bus would go through Miyapur, Alwyn Junction, Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Kothaguda, Botanical Garden, Anjaiah Naga and Gachibowli.
The first bus would leave from Alwyn Colony at 6.09 am and reach Waverock by 6.56 am, while the last bus would leave Alwyn Colony at 7.55 pm and reach Waverock at 8.42 pm.
Meanwhile, the authorities said that bus number 195 from Bachupally to Waverock would be available every five minutes, with the first bus starting at 5.50 am and reaching its destination by 7 am. TThe last bus would leave at 8.45 pm from Bachupally and cover areas such as Nizampet, JNTU, Hitec City and Gachibowli.

Officials have asked those commuting to and from the IT sector to avail public transport like buses and the Hyderabad Metro Rail, besides considering practices such as carpooling, to reduce the traffic congestion during the rainy season.
This is in addition to traffic advisories issued by authorities to avoid certain routes that are prone to waterlogging during the rain.
These measures have been put in place in light of the decision taken earlier this week after Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials met with the representatives of Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association (HYSEA), National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) and Society for Cyberabad Security Council (a joint collaboration between Cyberabad Police Commissionerate and IT industry), to address the traffic inconvenience to commuters during heavy downpour between 4 pm to 6 pm in the IT corridor.
Authorities also decided to delay the exit of the employees to tackle the issue.
The GHMC also said that a campaign to promote voluntary staggering by delaying or preponing commute when it rains, among IT corridor employees would be launched.
